WHAT STARTED as a big question, ‘What is the creative process, who uses it, and what changes as a result?’ turned into a two-event series, MAKE.

I invited people from a wide mix of backgrounds—journalism, video, photography, furniture making, anything at all I could think of that involved creative process—to join me and whomever might show up for a conversation salon. I never imagined the two groups would be so large in size; it was nice, but hard to keep the cozy intimacy that I enjoy in conversation salons I’ve hosted since 2017 began.

By design, more small. Nonetheless, the MAKE series made a space for people from all three vertices of The Triangle in North Carolina to connect, to find inspiration, to encourage one another, and indeed, to keep on making.

A good two nights.
