Currently based in Saigon and Phnom Penh, members of DK are working on design thinking, and innovation strategy since relocating to Southeast Asia in 2014. Prior to that, the founders were working with myriad small businesses and nonprofits in the United States to create brand identity designs. This took place from 2005-2009 with DK’s first office, in Seattle, and after that in Durham NC from a suite of popup studios that worked for each project. It’s like that, for DK. Agile–nimble, light, lean—is our thing. Inspired by the software engineers we had met in Seattle, partly, but also by design. DK changes all the time. Even the website refreshes every few months, sometimes. A consulting boutique, DK changed gears when it left the US to focusing more and more on strategy and designing ways to ask the right questions. All this, before hitting the pixels and making brand identity designs. For example, ‘What work matters most? To whom? And why do we do what we do?’ DK continues to inspire and question; making a mini-mag each Tuesday, S P A C E.
